Official State Fiddlers' Jamboree & Crafts Festival of Tennessee

The annual Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree & Crafts Festival was designated the official state jamboree and crafts festival of Tennessee in 1997. All State Festivals & Events

Event coordinator Neil Dudney said, “What we are trying to do is preserve the old time Appalachian music that our forefathers brought over here and came down through these hollars and hills..."

The annual event features hundreds of musicians, homemade crafts, and a variety of foods. Music categories include:

- Old-time Appalachian Folk
- Guitars
- Bluegrass Banjo
- Clogging (symbol of KY & NC)
- Buck Dancing
- Dobro
- Dulcimer, Mountain and Hammer
- Old-time Fiddle (symbol of OK, AR, MO, SD)
- Country Harmonica
- Old-time Gospel Singing
- Mandolin
- Novelty Events (Spoon Clacking, Jug Blowing, Washboard, Tub, Saws, Appalachian-related only)
