Indian Ricegrass

Nevada designated Indian ricegrass (Oryzopsis hymenoides) as the official state grass in 1977. A tough native grass that grows throughout Nevada, ricegrass was once a food source for native Nevada Indians, and now provides food for wildlife and range livestock.
