Introduction

Ennis was designated the official bluebonnet city of Texas in 1997 (bluebonnet is the state flower). The legislation also designates the Ennis Bluebonnet Trail as the official state bluebonnet trail of the state.

House Concurrent Resolution

WHEREAS, In April 1997, thousands of residents and visitors alike will gather in Chappell Hill for one of our state's most popular and colorful yearly events, the 33rd Annual Chappell Hill Bluebonnet Festival; and

The Grapevine Mesa Joshua Trees forest (located in Mohave County, AZ) was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1967.

3,206 acres owned by the Federal government, the forest contains the best existing display of Joshua trees in the United States. This site is also a superb example Mojave Desert ecology.

The Kake Cannery was designated a national historic landmark in 1998.  Kake is located in southeast Alaska; an area historically rich in salmon (the official state fish of Alaska). 

Highland Park includes the Pittsburgh Zoo, PPG Aquarium, bike track, pool, and volleyball courts.

Located in the Florida panhandle on the Georgia border, the city of Tallahassee is the state capital of Florida and the seat of Leon county. All State Capitals
