Official State Fife & Drum Corps of Tennessee

Watauga Valley Fife & Drum Corps was designated the official fife and drum corps of the state of Tennessee in 2014.  All State Dance & Music

The Watauga Valley Fife & Drum Corps is a Revolutionary War era reenactment group based in east Tennessee. This living-history organization strives to further public awareness of the culture and music of the settlers and Native Americans that lived in the Watauga Valley of Tennessee during the eighteenth century.

Liberty!

Official State Outdoor Drama of Tennessee

Tennessee designated "Liberty!" as the official state outdoor drama in 2009. The longest-running drama of any kind in the state, "Liberty!"  tells the story of Tennessee’s frontier beginnings in the 1770's and the westward expansion. Tennessee also recognizes an official state theater and a state community theater.

Official State Veterans Poem of Tennessee

Jasper N. Bailey’s poignant “Home to Stay” was designated the official state veterans poem of Tennessee in 2014. Bailey, a native of Cookeville TN, was a highly decorated veteran of World War II.

Official State Metal of Arizona

Arizona designated copper as the official state metal in 2015. Senator Steve Smith sponsored the bill after being approached by teacher Jennifer Royer and her fourth-grade students as part of an exercise in her civics class at Copper Creek Elementary School in Tucson. All State Rocks & Minerals

The Arizona district tartan is registered with the Scottish Tartan Authority and was designated the official state tartan of Arizona in 1995 (by proclamation of  Governor John Fife Symington III). All State Tartans

Official State Groundhog of Massachusetts

Massachusetts designated Ms. G of the Massachusetts Audubon Society as the official state groundhog in 2014 (to "be utilized as a way to educate elementary school children on the importance of meteorology"). All State Mammals

Mish Michaels (a meteorologist with WBZ-TVKids) and students of Wellesley’s Hunnewell Elementary School campaigned to have Ms. G recognized as a symbol of Massachusetts (to teach kids about weather, the environment, and the way legislature works).
